Pc Games Indie Game Early Access Action Game Role Playing GameThe indie game development team, Team Lazerbeam, and publisher Devolver Digital have announced their upcoming game, "Shroom and Gloom," a roguelike double-deckbuilder with a moody first-person perspective. The game is set to release on Steam later this year, and a demo is currently available.
"Shroom and Gloom" offers unique mechanics for players to grow and modify their cards in two distinct decks. The combat deck is used to survive fierce battles, while the explore deck helps navigate dungeons, transform cards, and unlock new weapons and abilities. Players can grow low-level starting cards into overpowered attacks or modify rare cards into game-breaking super-weapons.
The game also features a bounty of ways to defeat and consume fungal foes to restore lost health or cook them up into game-changing soups. The demo, which is available now, drops players into 26 handcrafted tunnels to battle spore-swarming enemies and biome bosses.
Team Lazerbeam, based in Cape Town, has been creating games since 2014, with previous titles including "Teenage Blob," "Snowcones," and "Wrestling With Emotions." "Shroom and Gloom" is their most ambitious project yet, and players can wishlist it now on Steam.
