Jagex, the developer of the popular game RuneScape, has announced a new open-world survival crafting game called RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The game is set on the forgotten continent of Ashenfall, where dragons have awakened. Players must gather, build, skill, and craft to survive and uncover ancient secrets to defeat the Dragon Queen. The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and features a unique progression system that allows players to unlock new spells, crafting recipes, and abilities.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds can be played solo or with up to three friends and features a stunning, hand-crafted landscape infused with magical energy. Players can harness the power of Anima to reshape their experience and wield wild, transformative magic to survive and level up skills. The game is set to launch into Early Access in Spring 2025, and players can wishlist it on Steam now. A special deep-dive reveal of the game will be held on Twitch on April 15 at 17:00 BST.

Jagex is known for its community-focused development ethos, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds is no exception. The game has already conducted closed alpha tests with some of the closest community members, and player feedback will be taken into account during the development process. The game is being developed by an entirely new team filled with industry veterans who are focused on making sure that RuneScape: Dragonwilds sits naturally within the RuneScape franchise.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the latest game in the RuneScape franchise, which has welcomed over 300 million player accounts to its world and is a $1billion + lifetime revenue franchise. Jagex also acquired Gamepires in 2022, bringing its expertise in building forever games to SCUM, a multi-million selling open-world survival title in Steam Early Access.
