Indie Game Early Access Pc Games Role Playing Game Action GameSolo-developer Ouadi Huard has announced the largest update yet for his popular indie game, Rogue: Genesia. The Blood & Steel update is set to release on August 7, 2024, and will bring numerous upgrades and improvements ahead of the game's full release in Q4 2024.
Rogue: Genesia, an action roguelite, was originally released in Early Access in September 2022 and has since gained over 200,000 downloads, with a Very Positive rating on Steam from close to 5,000 reviews. The game's average playtime of 28 hours attests to its addictive gameplay.
The Blood & Steel update introduces a host of game-changing improvements, including new items, effects, and enhancements for weapons, as well as new zones that extend the duration of each run. These new zones include a Western-themed variant for the second zone and a manor zone inhabited by a Vampire queen.
Rogue: Genesia's gameplay combines overwhelming waves of enemies with choice-based path progression and an attractive HD2D aesthetic. Players control Rog, a powerful soul in medieval armor, tasked with saving the world from hordes of monsters and bosses.
The update includes a revamped equipment system, weapon modifiers, new challenges, and a Western-themed zone. Numerous small improvements have also been made to help new players get started.
Ouadi Huard, a solo developer from Lyon, France, grew up playing video games and started modding them at a young age. He gained industry experience and is now focused on his first big release, Rogue: Genesia.
