The June Edition of Steam Next Fest 2025 featured over 2,600 game demos, with RIFTSTORM competing in the action category and sharing the "roguelite" tag with over 300 other titles. Despite the intense competition, RIFTSTORM's new mode, Operation 1411, helped it secure a spot among the most-played demos at the festival. This success came as a surprise to the Confiction team, who had dedicated only two months to pivot and create the new mode, which mixed tower-defense mechanics with an extraction meta.

Operation 1411 became one of the most popular sections of RIFTSTORM, with its messy and GPU-abusive gameplay, requiring a stability warning for players. Confiction's CCO, Igor Tanzil, cited the need to stand out from the crowd as the reason for adding the last-minute game mode. The team's prescience paid off, as RIFTSTORM's demo received positive feedback from players and remained live on Steam for those who wanted to try it out.

Confiction CEO, Arief Widhiyasa, expressed his pride in the team's accomplishment, acknowledging the challenges they faced during the festival. The event tested the team's systems, design intent, and overall capabilities, but they managed to pull it off, making it a significant win for the team. As the Confiction team continues to prepare RIFTSTORM for its eventual launch, the success of the demo at Steam Next Fest serves as validation for the risks they took and the hard work they put into the game.
