Revolutionizing Smart TV Gaming: Return Entertainment's Interactive Platform on Samsung Screens

Return Entertainment, a Finland-based technology and game developer, has announced the success of its smart TV gaming platform, available exclusively on Samsung Smart TVs in the United States. Launched in May 2024, the platform transforms smartphones into game controllers, offering a seamless and immersive gaming experience.

The platform, which debuted with Rivals Arena, merges casual TV viewing with interactive gaming, attracting mainstream TV viewers who have never considered themselves gamers before. According to a survey, 44% of users are playing games on their TVs for the first time.

The platform's design is a technical achievement, operating at an efficient bitrate and ensuring smooth, high-quality gameplay even under challenging network conditions. It also takes advantage of Samsung Smart TV's AI upscaling capabilities, elevating the visual experience.

Return Entertainment's platform has also introduced in-game video ads, including unskippable video interstitials and optional rewarded ads, providing a new revenue stream for game developers and TV manufacturers.

Vesa Jutila, CEO of Return Entertainment, said the platform is transforming TV screens into interactive entertainment hubs, opening new possibilities for how people experience games in their homes. Mike Lucero, Head of Gaming at Samsung Electronics America, said Samsung is committed to providing players with more ways to discover and enjoy the games they love.

Return Entertainment plans to introduce more games and features, aiming to become a cornerstone of entertainment in households across the globe. The company is backed up by Sisu Game Ventures, Bitkraft Ventures, Vgames, 1Up Ventures, SMOK Ventures, and Samsung Next.
