In a recent announcement, Gingham Games and Analgesic Productions revealed that the demo for their upcoming game, Danchi Days, is now available on Steam. The game, which is inspired by the GBA style, follows the character Hoshino as she tries to revive a summer festival in her danchi (a Japanese mass housing complex) in order to bring joy to her grandmother, who is suffering from dementia.

The demo allows players to get a taste of the game's charming and nostalgic atmosphere, as they explore the danchi and try to convince their quirky neighbors to participate in the festival. The game features replayable mini-games, a NeighborNet system for browsing, and the help of a kappa sidekick named Moro-Q.

Danchi Days is being developed by a team consisting of sandy powder, mogumu, and Melos Han-Tani of Gingham Games, as well as Analgesic Productions, which was founded in 2012 by Melos Han-Tani and Marina Kittaka. The studio is known for creating the Anodyne series, Angeline Era, and more.

Players can now download the demo on Steam and wishlist the game for its upcoming launch on PC in 2023. The full game will feature more opportunities to get to know the neighbors, explore the danchi, and work towards reviving the beloved summer festival.
