Ratalaika Games and Shinyuden have announced the release of Retro Revengers, an action-platformer-drama game inspired by classic hits, set to launch on July 23, 2024, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game features music by Manami Matsumae and boss design by Yuu Watari.

Retro Revengers follows the journey of Ossan, Taicho, and Notchi, video game streamers known as "Ii Otonatachi" in Japan. They aim to save the retro gaming world from being overshadowed by big-budget games. The gameplay resembles games made before 1995, with five characters, each with unique abilities and jumps, and varying levels designed around specific characters.

The game includes 3 difficulty levels, CRT filters, and different resolution modes. Manami Matsumae, known for composing Megaman and Shovel Knight music, has created the Retro Revengers soundtrack. The game features a mixed genre with comedy elements and requires players to combine abilities to defeat bosses in the second round for the true ending.

Ratalaika Games S.L. focuses on publishing and porting games to the console market, while Shinyuden, a Japanese video game publisher, specializes in classic Japanese and indie titles.
