Ratatan, a rhythm rogue-lite action game from the creators of Patapon, is set to launch in Early Access on Steam starting July 25, 2025. The game features beat-driven battles, colorful graphics, and the opportunity to recruit allies and build your Cobun army. Players can engage in online multiplayer mayhem with up to four players.
The Ratatan demo, which includes playable content from World 1 "Pirates of the Parabbean" through World 2 "Yeehawler Mountain" and four distinct Ratatans, is currently available on Steam. The game will be featured at several major summer events, including Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition, Future Games Show, and PC Gaming Show.
Ratatan is set in the world of Redo and follows the journey of the Ratatans, who use the power of song and magical instruments called Melodium to command their armies of Cobun. The game features rhythm commands, Cobun orders, a fever system, adorable 2D animations, and a toe-tapping soundtrack.
Ratatan Arts, led by Hiroyuki Kotani, developed the game in collaboration with TVT Co., Ltd. The game raised over ¥170 million (~USD 1.2M) on Kickstarter in August 2023, making it the #1 most-funded video game campaign of 2023. The full game will be available on Steam starting July 25, 2025.
