PeqApps has recently released version 2.0 of their popular game, Quartered, for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This update comes in response to user feedback, particularly the request for a leaderboard to compete against other players. The new recurring Game Center leaderboard tracks scores for each day's game, which resets at midnight in the player's time zone.

Quartered is a word game similar to Quartiles, with a grid of 20 tiles containing five scrambled words. The game swaps two tiles at a time, and players can earn three potential tile colors based on their moves: grey (wrong column), orange (correct column, wrong row), and green (correct row and column).

Additional features of Quartered include statistics such as win percentage, streaks, and average number of moves, as well as the ability to share scores with friends. The game offers a high contrast mode, multiple color schemes, and fun character animations upon winning.

Quartered is free to download and use on iOS/iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia devices. The daily game drops at midnight in the player's time zone. The game was developed by PeqApps, a company founded by Dan Hansen in 2008, which has since released several popular apps, including Weightage and Quartered.

Quartered is a spin-off of Scramble, a scrambled word game that was part of the Brain Arcade app. The game replaces Scramble's single letter tiles with multiple letters and uses three tile colors to convey move results, providing a balance of skill and serendipity in its gameplay.
