This update is part of the game's 2025 roadmap and aims to modernize the player experience and maintain its competitive edge in the battle royale genre.
Update 35.2 introduces destructible terrain to the Taego map, allowing players to alter the environment using explosives like grenades, mortars, C4, and the Panzerfaust. A new pickaxe has also been added, enabling players to manually dig and modify the terrain more quietly. These changes add a new layer of strategy to the game, enhancing positioning and map control.
KRAFTON is also working towards unifying gameplay elements across maps, reducing map-specific knowledge requirements and creating a more consistent experience for all players. The update introduces a new Vehicle Camouflage Netting item, allowing players to disguise parked vehicles on Erangel and Miramar. Vending Machines, previously exclusive to Miramar, are now available on Erangel and Taego, providing healing and boost items. Destructible pots, a looting mechanic from other maps, have been added to Erangel.
Additional balance changes and usability updates include reworking C4 into a deployable item, improving the Inflatable Boat's speed and weight, and enhancing Flare Gun usability with clearer tooltips, UI indicators, and radio messages.
