KRAFTON, Inc., the company behind PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, has revealed its roadmap for the game's development up to 2025. The roadmap focuses on three main areas: building long-term sustainability, enhancing the live service, and developing exciting new content. To ensure the game's longevity, PUBG will transition to current-generation consoles in late 2025, adopting Unreal Engine 5 to improve graphical fidelity and scalability. The PUBG UGC project will allow players to create and share custom experiences, starting with a new TDM-style mode in Custom Matches.

In terms of live service enhancement, KRAFTON aims to create a more unified experience across Normal Matches, Ranked, and Esports. Key elements from Normal Matches will be integrated into Ranked, reducing the gameplay gap between the two modes. Gunplay will be regularly balanced with bi-monthly updates and an annual large-scale rebalancing. AI behavior will also be improved, making bots more realistic and strategic.

PUBG will introduce major world updates, transforming existing maps and adding new features like Destructible Terrain. New vehicles, items, and gameplay features, such as camouflage nets and explosive gas tanks, will expand the gameplay experience. Arcade modes and collaborative content will also be expanded.

KRAFTON is committed to maintaining a fair and competitive environment by strengthening anti-cheat measures. New detection and defense technologies, machine learning models, and security measures will be implemented to counter cheating and protect player accounts.

The roadmap aims to provide a more unified experience, improve gameplay, and ensure the game's longevity through new technologies and content. Players can look forward to enhanced performance, better gunplay, more realistic AI, and exciting new features in the coming years.
