Brendan Greene and PLAYERUNKNOWN Productions have revealed the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming single-player open-world survival game, Prologue: Go Wayback! The trailer showcases the game's core mechanics, including exploration, caloric intake, body temperature regulation, and shelter discovery and maintenance. The game is set to release on Steam Early Access in Summer 2025 for $20.

Prologue: Go Wayback! is an emergent game that utilizes ML-powered terrain generation technology, ensuring no two journeys are the same. Players must navigate, adapt, and survive in a vast, ever-changing wilderness, with the ultimate goal of reaching the Weather Tower, the only point of extraction.

Survival in Prologue is dictated by the environment, with unpredictable terrain, harsh weather conditions, and constant threats from hunger and cold. Players must master orienteering, read the environment for resources, and make critical survival decisions at every step.

PLAYERUNKNOWN Productions is committed to evolving Prologue with user input from Early Access launch and will continuously work with the community to refine the game and add new features and mechanics.

Prologue: Go Wayback! is the first step in the studio's journey towards project 'Artemis', which aims to create a massive sandbox world designed for emergent interactions, player creativity, and ultimate freedom.
