Bipedal Dog, an independent game development studio led by Ray Barnholt, has announced the upcoming release of their latest game, Blast Rush LS, a shoot-em-up game now available for preorder on the Nintendo eShop. The game will be released on June 19, 2025, for $9.99 USD, with a 20% discount during the preorder period. A PC version will follow later in the year.

Blast Rush LS is an enhanced version of the mobile game Blast Rush, which features an innovative twist on the bullet hell formula by providing players with an infinite supply of bombs. Players can use these bombs as their primary weapon to blast through waves of enemies in a fast-paced and satisfying experience. The game offers three types of bombs for each ship, providing a total of nine distinct explosive options.

The game includes several modes, such as "Standard" with over 40 handcrafted levels, "Endurance" with randomized levels, and "2-Minute" variants for high-score hunting. Blast Rush LS features a 16-bit-style pixel art aesthetic and a chiptune soundtrack, reminiscent of classic arcade games. The original version of Blast Rush is also included in the package.

Bipedal Dog is a game development studio based in San Jose, California, with a portfolio that includes Blast Rush (iOS/Android), Blast Rush Classic (PC), Mash Gadget (Playdate), and contributions to Surmount (PC/Nintendo Switch). The studio is led by creative director Ray Barnholt, a former writer and editor at 1UP.com and a guest on the Retronauts podcast.
