Mega Cat Studios and ZPF Team have announced that pre-orders are now open for their new shoot-'em-up game, ZPF, which was successfully funded on Kickstarter earlier this year. The game, inspired by classic shooters such as Lords of Thunder and Thunder Force 3 and 4, features stunning pixel art, lightning-fast gameplay, and an electrifying chiptune soundtrack. It also includes six levels of intense action, set across surreal sci-fi, horror, and fantasy landscapes, and a high-energy soundtrack that fits the on-screen action like a glove.

ZPF features hordes of screen-filling bosses, an engaging and satisfying scoring system, and three unique characters to master, each with their own play style. The game's creator and ZPF Team co-founder, Gryzor, said that the game has been a labor of love, with more work put into it than any of his other projects. The Genesis and Mega Drive versions of ZPF are slated to ship in Q1 2025, with a Steam release to follow soon after.
