The story follows Ichikio Kitagawa, a young orphan who becomes a maid in the Iwakura household in 1960's Japan. As she grows closer to Aria, the frail daughter of the household, Ichiko uncovers chilling secrets that will impact their fates.

Iwakura Aria offers heart-pounding revelations, with nine different endings that can change based on the player's choices. Exploring the mansion and discovering hidden secrets is crucial to understanding the characters and the greater story. Ichiko's sketchbook contains detailed drawings that can reveal hidden clues, and the game's illustrations are in a painterly style with cut-out frames that piece together multiple images into one scene.
