Fatshark, the independent game developer, has announced an Open Beta for the new game mode "Versus" in Warhammer: Vermintide 2. The Open Beta, which is available on Steam from August 21st to September 2nd, offers players the opportunity to engage in 4v4 asymmetric multiplayer battles, where they can choose to play as the Ubersreik Five Heroes or the Skaven specials.

The final version of Vermintide 2: Versus, set to launch soon, will feature intense multiplayer action, character variety, and specialization. Players can choose from five different heroes and twenty different careers, or play as one of the five different Skaven, each with unique abilities. The game mode also offers a new progression system with challenges and rewards specifically designed for Versus.

The Open Beta does not include all the features that will be available in the final version. Fatshark, based in Stockholm, Sweden, is an independent game developer that has previously developed popular titles such as Warhammer: Vermintide 2, Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, Lead and Gold, Krater, and War of the Roses.

Games Workshop, based in Nottingham, UK, produces the best fantasy miniatures in the world and has licensed the Warhammer franchise to Fatshark for the development of Vermintide 2: Versus. The Warhammer franchise includes the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000 games, miniatures, novels, and model kits, which are sold through Games Workshop's own stores, the Games Workshop website, and independent retail channels in over 50 countries worldwide.
