Apparition Games, in partnership with indie.io, has announced that Pinball Spire, a unique pinball adventure game, will be released on Steam on October 2, 2024. The game combines classic pinball mechanics with platforming, puzzles, and adventure elements, offering players a fresh take on the genre.

In Pinball Spire, players control Pip, an intrepid pinball, as they explore a mysterious spire filled with chambers. Instead of focusing on high scores, players must use their platforming and puzzle-solving skills to navigate through the levels. The game features an interconnected world with various pathways, contraptions, and challenges that require both creativity and skill to overcome.

Tom Voros, the solo developer of Pinball Spire, drew inspiration from old-school action games, classic pinball video games, and Metroidvania titles. The game's atmosphere is enhanced by a soundtrack created by Starling Tan, which combines retro video game music with modern elements.

As players progress through the game, they will encounter new challenges and acquire mana-powered abilities, such as Fireball and Focus, which add more gameplay possibilities. The Scouter feature allows players to pause the game and plan their approach by identifying interactable elements in the current chamber.

Pinball Spire has received positive feedback at events like PAX East, Gamescom, and PAX West, and has captivated players during Steam Next Fest. The game is expected to appeal to both pinball enthusiasts and newcomers to the genre.
