Steam Next Fest provided a significant boost to the arcade roguelike deckbuilder game, Paris Transylvania, with over 2000 new players trying out the beta demo. The median playtime was 38 minutes, and the game received 33 curator recommendations and strong support from streamers, including CG Plays, Idle Cub, and Dr Incompetent. The developers have already acted on the feedback received and released Beta 1.02.

Paris Transylvania is set to release in Q3/Q4 2025, with a beta demo world premiere at Steam Next Fest in June. The game features around 90 minutes of unique content, hand-drawn gothic art style, and mechanics inspired by Peggle, Peglin, and Slay the Spire. Players can choose from three unlikely heroes, each with unique abilities and personalized starter decks, to conquer Transylvania and free the people from vampire bosses.

The key features of the game include dynamic deckbuilding, pachinko-style gameplay, powerful relics, and ever-changing Transylvania. Players can create a unique deck by choosing cards wisely, strategically hit pegs to power up their cards, and uncover game-changing relics that amplify their build. The maps shift with every journey, and players can choose their path, encounter surprises, and face unique bosses each time.

Magneticlake, the indie game duo based in Sweden, developed Paris Transylvania. The team consists of gamedev veteran Ola Persson and narrative designer Charlotta Bendz, who have previously worked on Microsoft Flight Simulator, Miniclip, DICE, and 30+ mobile titles. Paris Transylvania marks Ola's first full Steam release. The game's music is made by the developers and cleared for streaming, and it will be fully localized in all supported languages.
