Saber Interactive's 3D Realms label and developer Anshar Studios have announced that Painkiller, a modern reimagining of the classic action franchise featuring cooperative gameplay, will be released on October 9, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The game is available for pre-order in Standard and Deluxe Editions, with exclusive bonuses for each version.

Painkiller is set in Purgatory, where players must battle through hordes of demons in brutal combat to earn their salvation. The game features four distinct characters, each with unique perks, and players can upgrade their abilities using tarot cards.
