The indie studio Toadzillart and publisher Future Friends Games have announced that the wholesome creature collection idle game, Whimside, will launch on August 7th for PC via Steam. The game features a cozy and relaxing creature collection experience that sits at the bottom of the player's screen, keeping them company while they work, study, or watch videos.

Whimside allows players to capture and create new species of Whimlings by combining two creatures to reveal a procedurally generated new species. Players can explore the world of Whimside and unlock new biomes, each rich with secrets, surprises, and rare new species to uncover and collect. The game also features a decoration system that empowers players to personalize their own whimsical haven with a variety of decorations, from a peaceful garden to an extravagant outdoor playground.

Toadzillart is a French-based indie studio consisting of a game dev couple, Toadzillart and Tadpoly, who have been working on their debut game Whimside since 2024. They describe it as "a true labor of love." The game has been described as "An Adorable Fusion Of Desktop Pets And Pokémon Breeding" by Inverse Gaming.

Whimside offers a relaxing escape for players, allowing them to play at their own pace and enjoy the company of their Whimlings throughout the day.
