The Forgotten Depths update went live during the Triple-i showcase on April 10, 2025, as a thank you to the game's supportive community, which has recently grown by more than 250,000 players.
The update introduces a new biome, the Plains Deep Caves, featuring new enemies, secrets, and loot for players to discover. To celebrate this update and encourage more players to join the community, Necesse is available to play for free on Steam during the weekend.
Necesse has been well-received in the sandbox survival genre, with its procedurally generated world, various areas to explore, over 150 craftable tools and weapons, and a wide range of enemies, including 17 challenging bosses. The game supports both solo and multiplayer experiences, allowing players to build, fight, and survive together or on their own.
The Forgotten Depths update includes a new boss, the Cursed Crone, found in the Plains Deep Caves, along with new armor sets, trinkets, and weapons. The update also brings improvements to the economy, such as enhancements to traders and the task board. Additionally, the update provides a teaser for the upcoming 1.0 version of the game.
Fair Games is known for its work in the Sandbox, Survival, and Crafting genre, and Necesse is one of their most successful projects, with over 1.4 million sales and 1.1 million wishlist adds. Players can join the Necesse community on Steam, Discord, and YouTube. For more information about Fair Games, visit their official website.
