Whitethorn Games and Polygon Treehouse have announced that the exploration friendship adventure game, Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, will be released on December 5, 2024, for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Series S|X. The game was first announced during the Cozy Quest Steam event, and a new trailer showcasing the gameplay has been released.

In Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, players take on the role of backpacker Alex, who is stranded on the mysterious island of Ambrosia. The island is inhabited by the gods of Greek myth and legend, who have lost their memories. Alex must befriend the inhabitants and help them restore their memories to find her way home.

The game features a dynamic island that players can explore in a non-linear fashion, inspired by elements of the Ace Attorney franchise and A Short Hike. Players can build relationships with the gods through a unique relationship mechanic, and the closer they become, the more willing the gods are to help Alex with their godly powers.

Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island features many gods, including Ares, Athena, Hermes, and Hades. Players can use the Ambrosidex to hunt for lost godly treasures hidden all over the island, which can be returned to their rightful owners to help rekindle their memories and learn more about the island’s fate.

The game also features a conversational wizard, where players can explore the island, examine new objects and locations, and talk to others to unlock new conversation topics. The game’s emotional story focuses on the importance of friendship, family, and community.

Polygon Treehouse is a new(ish) indie games studio founded by two ex-PlayStation/Guerrilla Games Art Directors, based in Dundee, United Kingdom. Whitethorn Games is an indie game publisher focusing on pleasant, easy-going games that can be played in pieces, that require no special skills or knowledge, and that anyone can pick up and play.
