Morbidware Studio and Stockholm Kartell have announced their new game, MÖRK BORG Heresy Supreme, a doom-metal action RPG set in the grimdark fantasy universe of the MÖRK BORG tabletop RPG. The game is set to release on Steam at the end of 2025, and a Kickstarter campaign will launch in early October, offering exclusive rewards to backers. Players take control of antiheroes navigating a brutal, semi-procedural world, fighting, surviving, and making apocalyptic choices in fast, strategic combat. The game features grimdark quests inspired by the tabletop RPG and a graphic style inspired by the book. MÖRK BORG Heresy Supreme brings the ruin of the tabletop RPG to video gaming, with dynamic and unforgiving combat, horrific quests, and a dying world divided into regions. The world is dynamically generated based on progress and quests, with locations, adventures, bosses, and special items resetting on every playthrough. Players can form parties, but each companion has their own agenda, and trust is rare in this brutal realm. The game does not have XP, and leveling up can result in abilities getting worse. Miseries, apocalyptic events, devastate the world as players delve deeper into the filth, and Omens can be spent to deal max damage or reroll ability checks. The game includes RPG elements, with every character having abilities that determine their likelihood of survival. The end is always near in MÖRK BORG Heresy Supreme, and players must gather relics demanded by the two-headed Basilisk and travel to the Valley of the Unfortunate Undead to face Verhu and Gorgh.
