Moon Watch: A Time-Stop Horde Survival Roguelike from Backpack Hero Creators

The creators of the successful game Backpack Hero have announced their latest project, Moon Watch, a time-stop horde survival roguelike. The game is set to be released on Steam Early Access later this year, but players can try out the free web demo on Itch now. Moon Watch combines tactical survival gameplay with strategic deck-building, encouraging thoughtful planning and allowing players to freeze time to choose their next move carefully.

The game's lead developer, Jasper Cole, drew inspiration from games such as Vampire Survivors, Slay the Spire, and Superhot. Moon Watch follows a badass vampire hunter disguised as a nun, who uses advanced time-stop technology to fight hordes of vampires, ghouls, and undead. Players must survive endless waves of enemies, build their deck, and unlock powerful abilities to defeat the Vampire Lord on the dark side of the moon.

Jaspel, the three-person studio behind Moon Watch, is known for inventing new genres and pushing the boundaries of indie gaming. Pretty Soon, the publisher behind Backpack Hero, is also involved in the project. Moon Watch features a unique sequential flow, allowing players to move, stop, strategize, and act, setting it apart from traditional bullet-hell experiences. Players can wishlist the game on Steam and try out the free web demo on Itch to provide feedback and help the developers improve the game.
