Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW) 2024, a 10-day celebration of games culture, returns for its 10th anniversary from October 3-13. The event fosters connections within the games community, local industry, and international games leaders. MIGW features various industry events, including Games Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP), High Score, and Play Now Melbourne, providing local studios and developers opportunities to connect with international games experts and enthusiasts.

ACMI, the spiritual home of games, hosts a world premiere exhibition, Honk! Untitled Goose Exhibition, and an interactive commission, Rotted Luck, which critiques dark pattern game design. The program also includes the inaugural 2-day Education Symposium: Careers and Frontiers, a new exhibition Feminine Play, and a series of games-inspired shows presented in partnership with the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Major events include Big Games Night Out, which transforms Fed Square into a wonderland of games, music, and cosplay, and PAX Aus, the ultimate celebration of all things games. Various free, family-friendly events are also available throughout the week. The Victorian Government continues to support the digital games industry, with Minister for Creative Industries, the Hon. Colin Brooks MP, expressing excitement for the upcoming festival.
