Meet the Heroes of Capes: Mercurial and Weathervane

Spitfire Interactive and Daedalic Entertainment have released two trailers for their upcoming turn-based superhero tactics game, Capes, which will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5/4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One starting May 29, 2024. The trailers introduce two playable characters: Mercurial and Weathervane.

Mercurial is a powerful and fast hero, with inhuman reflexes and speed. Before discovering her abilities, she was involved in street fighting and professional combat sports. To avoid being captured by The Company, which has made superpowers illegal, she joins the Capes. Mercurial's speed allows her to cover large distances, land powerful punches, disarm enemies, and escape danger quickly.

Weathervane, a former football player with a quick temper, accidentally discovers his powers and is captured by The Company for experiments. The Capes rescue him, and he joins the team to fight for justice and seek revenge. Weathervane's abilities include the Lightning Scourge, which shocks multiple enemies, and wind powers that let him move fuel barrels strategically for explosive results.

Capes is an action-focused turn-based superhero strategy game where players level up heroes and combine their powers for devastating team-up attacks in challenging missions. The game features a dark and gritty campaign, side-missions to improve heroes and learn about their past, and various console and PC releases. The King City Edition, which includes the full game, alternate hero appearances, an art book, and more, will also be available.

Daedalic Entertainment, a renowned publisher with a 17-year history, supports indie developers and has a diverse line-up of games focusing on storytelling, strategy, co-op, and wholesome titles. Spitfire Interactive, founded by former Defiant Development team members, includes writer Morgan Jaffit, who has worked on games like Freedom Force (2002) and Teen Titans (2006).
