LAN Parties: Solve a Mystery in Retro Gaming Nostalgia

Pc Games Indie GameLEAP Game Studios, an independent game developer based in Lima, Peru, has announced LAN Party Adventures, a single-player adventure game that combines storytelling and simulation, taking players back to the early 2000s and the heyday of massive LAN parties. The game is set to launch on PC via Steam in 2025.
In LAN Party Adventures, players are tasked with setting up LAN parties in various locations, handling hardware, plugging cables, and managing software to get computers to communicate with each other. The game features a blend of straightforward simulation challenges and a light investigative narrative. As players work to uncover the truth behind a friend's disappearance, they must collaborate with their group, solve puzzles, and follow digital clues.
Each new LAN party brings fresh challenges, pieces of the mystery, and opportunities to unlock upgrades and tools to make the events larger and more entertaining. Players can also set up their dream LANs in Sandbox Mode, complete with retro-inspired posters, customizable computers, and endless accessories.
Gabriel Shimabuko, producer at LEAP Game Studios, said, "Our goal is to evoke cherished memories of old-school LAN parties while offering a compelling mystery for players to solve together."
LEAP Game Studios has received support for LAN Party Adventures from an Epic MegaGrant (2023) and the National Videogame Contest from the Ministry of Culture of Peru. The game is co-published with P. Chu Joy Games, the publishing and distribution division of pchujoy.com, which focuses on creativity and local talent in the Peruvian video game industry.
