Kwalee and PowerSnake Partner for Cosmic Horror Metroidvania 'Voidwrought'

Pc Games Indie Game Action Game Role Playing Game Nintendo Switch Virtual Reality GamingKwalee, a leading UK games publisher, and PowerSnake, an independent Swedish developer, have announced a publishing agreement for the upcoming 2D action-platformer game, Voidwrought. The game is set in a hand-drawn world of cosmic horrors, where players control the newly-born Simulacrum and delve into the thawing ruins of the First Civilisation to strike down the primaeval gods that dwell there. Voidwrought is expected to be released on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store and Nintendo Switch in 2024.
Ben Forrester, VP of PC & Console at Kwalee, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that PowerSnake's vision and ambition align with Kwalee's development partners' qualities. Christofer Levall of PowerSnake also shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that Kwalee's passion will help bring the vision for Voidwrought to life.
Voidwrought features a tight core loop of exploration and combat, supported by varied traversal abilities, exquisite art and animation, and formidable boss battles. Players can wield ancient Artifacts, customize their loadout with over 30 Artifacts, and build their shrine by gaining followers to excavate and expand the Simulacrum’s shrine.

The company has published a growing catalogue of PC and console titles, including Eternal Hope, Scathe, and Wildmender, and has studios in the UK, India, China, and Portugal, with remote team members worldwide. PowerSnake is a Swedish developer that consists of 3 developers who share a love for cosmic horror, passive souls-like narratives, and intriguing mysteries. Voidwrought is their love letter to the metroidvania genre.
