KRAFTON Acquires Tango Gameworks: Hi-Fi RUSH's Future Secured

KRAFTON, a South Korean game development company, has announced its acquisition of Tango Gameworks, a renowned Japanese studio known for games like The Evil Within series, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the critically acclaimed Hi-Fi RUSH. This strategic move marks KRAFTON's first significant investment in the Japanese video game market and aligns with their global expansion plans.

Tango Gameworks, founded in 2010 and previously owned by Xbox through the ZeniMax acquisition, brings its acclaimed IP, Hi-Fi RUSH, to KRAFTON. Hi-Fi RUSH is a rhythm action combat game that has received widespread critical acclaim, including 'Overwhelmingly Positive' reviews on Steam and prestigious awards such as 'Best Animation' at the BAFTA Games Awards and 'Best Audio Design' at The Game Awards.

KRAFTON intends to collaborate with Xbox and ZeniMax to ensure a smooth transition for Tango Gameworks, allowing the team to continue developing the Hi-Fi RUSH IP and explore future projects. The existing game catalog, including The Evil Within, The Evil Within 2, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Hi-Fi RUSH, will not be affected and will remain available.

This acquisition reinforces KRAFTON's commitment to expanding its global footprint and enhancing its portfolio with innovative and high-quality content. Tango Gameworks' integration represents a strategic alignment with KRAFTON's mission to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment. KRAFTON's portfolio includes popular titles such as PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, PUBG MOBILE, The Callisto Protocol, and NEW STATE MOBILE.
