Sudo Make has revealed the first major trailer for their upcoming game, Kamikaze Tactics, a Turn-based Tactics Roguelike that draws inspiration from X-Wing the Miniatures Game, Fire Emblem, and Into the Breach. The game is set to offer a unique take on tactical positioning by doing away with grids and accuracy, and using aerial dogfighting instead.

Kamikaze Tactics boasts a strong personality and character, drawing inspiration from 90's media such as Cowboy Bebop. The game features 10 unique pilots, each with their own ships, skill trees, strengths, and weaknesses. The gridless turn-based tactics gameplay places emphasis on planning and positional mastery, leading to highly dynamic positions that blend risks of collisions with opportunities to deal damage without return fire.

The game also features rich, deterministic combat mechanics that do away with the "X% to Hit" pain points so common in tactics games. A crew upgrade system demands interesting tradeoffs from players, and missions change every run to provide replayability and strategic choices. Unique and charming dialog between characters adds to the game's fresh and interesting story.

Kamikaze Tactics is set to offer a fun and strategic experience that requires forethought and care. Players can wishlist the game on Steam in anticipation of its release. The creator of the game has described Kamikaze Tactics as a love letter to X-Wing the Miniatures Game and is excited for players to try out the demo and provide feedback.
