Skeleton Crew Studio has released GiLGuL, a real-time strategy and simulation game set in a world between life and death. Players will follow the protagonist, Mitsu Mao, as she climbs through the Interworld, a realm inhabited by people who long for death. Mao's journey involves exploring the Interworld, interacting with other characters, and making choices that will affect her relationships and their fates.

The game features two modes: Adventuring and Real-time Tactics. In Adventuring mode, players will explore the Interworld, uncovering the stories of other characters and making decisions that will impact their relationships with them. Real-time Tactics mode involves defeating monsters that block Mao's path, requiring players to use skills, tactics, summoning abilities, and strategic teamwork.

GiLGuL is available on Steam at a 30% discount for a limited time. It is published by Skeleton Crew Studio, a Kyoto-based publisher and developer that supports independent game creators in Japan and around the world. The studio hosts BitSummit, Japan's largest indie game festival, and provides resources and support to indie developers through workshops, government programs, and partnerships with international conferences and events.
