Joe & Mac Retro Collection Kickstarter Launched: 40% Funded in 24 Hours

Red Art Games has announced the launch of the Kickstarter campaign for the Joe & Mac Retro Collection. The campaign has already reached 40% of its funding goal in less than 24 hours. The collection will include three Joe & Mac games that were released on Western Super Nintendo consoles in the early 90s, as well as the uncensored Japanese versions. The collection will have new features and quality of life improvements.

Red Art Games has revealed the first stretch goal for the campaign, which is the addition of a new Boss Rush Mode if the campaign reaches €30,000 in funding. The physical and digital rewards for the campaign have been created especially for this Kickstarter campaign. The collection will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) later this year.

The Joe & Mac Retro Collection is being developed by Red Art Games' internal studio, Red Art Studios. The collection includes Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, Congo's Caper, and Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics. The collection will have quality of life improvements such as save states, rewind feature, optional CRT filter, and customizable aspect ratios.

Red Art Games is a France-based publishing company that specializes in bringing indie, Japanese, and retro titles to consoles and PC both physically and digitally. The company has published over 200 physical titles and ported over 30 games since its inception. In March 2023, Red Art Games was awarded the 11th spot in Metacritic’s 13th Annual Game Publisher Rankings.
