College Fun Games has recently announced and released their debut game, The Protagonish. This is a short point-and-click adventure game that offers a unique perspective by allowing players to control four Non-Playing Characters (NPCs) in a peaceful village that is being threatened by an outsider. The game features puzzles, dialogue, and deception, with multiple endings and character arcs that change based on the player's choices.

The Protagonish is designed to be a humorous game that the whole family can enjoy, with a live, improvised voice performance, hand-drawn characters and locations, and a score performed on real Celtic instruments. The game offers 20 minutes of single-player gameplay, and it features wit, British humor, and a grappling hook.

The game has received positive reviews, with Pen and Paper calling it "an amazing and fun game." The Protagonish is available on Steam and Itch.io, and the development team is already working on their first full-length title, to be announced in 2025.

College Fun Games is a new Edinburgh, Scotland-based game studio founded in January 2024 by Daniel Turner. The studio aims to create point-and-click adventure games that tell stories with humor and heart. The Protagonish is the team's first title, and they are committed to creating games without "crunch" and giving everyone the freedom to do their best creative work. The team pays fairly, works flexibly, and does not use AI tools.
