Clockwork Origins, an independent game studio, has announced its next game: HexaScape: Cyber Defense. This turn-based strategy game combines hexgrid world-building, puzzle elements, and tower defense gameplay, with players defending their cyber core from invading computer viruses. The game is inspired by classic board games like Carcassonne and digital titles such as Dorfromantik and Rogue Tower, but offers a unique genre mix and virus spawn mechanism.

A demo of HexaScape is now available on Steam, featuring pre-built scenarios and customization options. The game will be released in May 2024 in Early Access, with the full version planned for Q1 2025. HexaScape will be available on Steam, Epic, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Clockwork Origins has a history of experimenting with game mechanics and visual styles, dating back to 2005. The studio has developed four video games to date, with expertise in project management, programming, game design, graphics, music, sound, voice acting, marketing, and distribution. Their portfolio includes classic tower defense games, innovative genre mixes, and procedurally generated content.

HexaScape: Cyber Defense promises to be an engaging and unique turn-based strategy experience, combining elements of world-building, puzzles, and tower defense gameplay. With its innovative features and the pedigree of Clockwork Origins, HexaScape is poised to offer a fresh take on the strategy genre.
