Heroes of Loot: Gauntlet of Power, a new game from OrangePixel, combines dungeon crawling and bullet-heaven gameplay in a roguelike format. The game features the Gauntlet of Power, a weapon that can be mounted in eight directions and upgraded with various combo weapons and effects. With randomly generated dungeons, items, enemies, and bosses, the game offers endless replayability.

Gauntlet of Power is the third game in the Heroes of Loot series and marks OrangePixel's 20th anniversary. The game features five base weapons, unique items, over 14 end bosses, and six dungeons across 16 levels. Players can choose from two base classes and unlock two additional classes, with various rune-power options and forged cards available as well.

OrangePixel is an independent game development studio founded by Pascal Bestebroer in 2004. Despite having a small budget, OrangePixel has released several successful game series, including Gunslugs, Space Grunts, Heroes of Loot, Residual, Ashworld, and many others on various platforms.

Bestebroer admits that competing with AAA games and other indie games with larger budgets can be challenging. However, with a total development and marketing budget of less than $10,000, Gauntlet of Power demonstrates the resilience and ingenuity of independent developers.

The game received positive feedback during the Steam Next Fest demo and topped Steam's "Popular upcoming releases" list prior to launch. Gauntlet of Power is now available on Steam for Windows, Mac, and Linux, with a Nintendo Switch and Atari VCS release planned for Q4 2024.
