Games for Change Festival Announces Speakers, Theme: The 2030 Marker

Pc Games Indie Game Role Playing Game Early Access Microsoft Xbox Sony Playstation Nintendo SwitchThe Games for Change Festival, taking place on June 27-28 in New York City, has announced its first round of speakers and opened registration for the event. The theme of this year's Festival is "The 2030 Marker: A Catalyst for Global Change," inspired by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. The Festival aims to showcase the role of games and XR in fostering innovation, creativity, and community involvement to improve the world.
Featured speakers include Ava Volandes from Minecraft, Shuli Gilutz from UNICEF, Corinne Dey from PBS KIDS, Cameron Kostopoulos from Kost, Tristan Marra from GLAAD, Walter Greenleaf from Stanford University, and Melanie Harke from Fred Rogers Productions. The Festival is supported by partners such as Verizon, Unity, the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, the Entertainment Software Association, Netflix, and LEGO.
The two-day Festival will feature programming curated by experts across various sectors, including Civics & Social Issues, Digital Health & Wellness, and Games & Learning. Attendees can expect diverse networking opportunities, interactive sessions, keynotes, panels, and workshops, as well as the annual G4C Awards and Awards Arcade.
Games for Change is a nonprofit organization that empowers game creators and innovators to drive real-world change using games and immersive media. The organization supports a global community of game developers using games to tackle real-world challenges. Early bird tickets for the Festival are available through April 8, 2024.
