Gamecity Hamburg Funds Six Promising Digital Games with Up to 80,000 Euros Each

Gamecity Hamburg, a division of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, has announced the recipients of its seventh round of Prototype Funding. Six digital games have been selected to receive up to 80,000 euros each in non-repayable grants to support the development of marketable prototypes. The funded projects include NeverLight by Nightless Games, Pet Universe by Tivola Games, Space Station Manager by gameXcite, Unbreachable by Buckfish, Deep Fog Signals by Symmetry Break Studio, and Cosmic Run by Zinktank Labs.

The selection committee, composed of Hamburg industry experts, chose projects with the greatest market potential from a pool of many applications. The Prototype Funding program has supported the development of 37 prototypes since 2020. The next application phase for the funding will begin in spring 2026.

Gamecity Hamburg also offers the Games Lift Incubator, a program that supports five teams, developers, and start-ups in the development of digital games with € 15,000 in start-up funding, coaching, mentoring, workshops, and follow-up individual support. Teams and developers can currently apply for the Games Lift Incubator until June 10.

Gamecity Hamburg is committed to supporting the growth of the gaming industry in Hamburg and provides various funding opportunities to start-ups and developers. The program introduced a diversity checklist in 2024, which can be used by the awarding committee in the evaluation process.
