Gamebeast, a platform offering tools for developers in the user-generated content (UGC) video game industry, has raised $3.7 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by J2 Ventures, with participation from a16z SPEEDRUN, The Mini Fund, and Le Zhang. Gamebeast aims to help developers maximize revenue on platforms like Roblox and UEFN (Fortnite) by addressing a lack of LiveOps support, A/B testing capabilities, and real-time analytics tools.
Gamebeast is the first no-code platform designed for Roblox developers, providing an intuitive interface, LiveOps support, management tools, and A/B testing to optimize games for Roblox's discovery algorithm. The platform enables rapid game modifications without server disruptions and helps developers detect player pain points, make live updates, and optimize engagement and revenue.
The company, co-founded by a Roblox game designer, an AI researcher, and experts from MIT, Microsoft, Disney, and Lincoln, is currently working with over 40 game developers and in late-stage discussions with multiple aspects of the Department of Defense. Gamebeast plans to use the funding to launch on new platforms, leverage AI-driven analytics, build the largest data insights and reporting platform in the user-generated content space, and enhance its internal insights platform for strategic game and data acquisitions.
J2 Ventures, a $250M+ AUM deep-tech venture capital firm, is among the investors. J2 Ventures focuses on sectors critical to national security and private sector advancements, including advanced computing, cybersecurity, telecom and infrastructure, and healthcare. The fund is backed by JP Morgan, MetLife, and the New Mexico State Investment Council.
Gamebeast's platform holds significant potential for defense applications, as its gaming expertise can help the Air Force and other initiatives create and analyze advanced digital environments. The company is working with major partners to curate solutions tailored to their studios and is in late-stage discussions with the Department of Defense.
