PQube and Inti Creates have announced the release of "Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark" for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, set to launch digitally on all platforms on March 27th, 2025. The physical edition release date for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 will be announced soon.

"Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark" is a metroidvania-style 2D action-adventure game, set in the Demon Realm, where the strongest demons, known as "Demon Lords," fight for control. The game follows the story of Kirika and Masha, two maids who serve the Demon Lord Maxim, as they embark on a journey to restore their master to his former glory after their castle is destroyed by a rival lord.

Players can switch between the two sisters, each with unique gameplay styles. Kirika attacks from a distance with demonic guns, while Masha covers close ranges with her whip. The game also features couch and online co-op, where each player controls a sister, opening up new possibilities for exploration and enemy encounters.

The game also includes a "Style" system, where players can choose between "Casual," "Veteran," and "Legend" modes, which can be switched at any time with unified content across all modes. The game encourages exploration, with hidden passages, trap doors, and puzzles throughout the Demon Realm, leading to the collection of items, sub-weapons, and passive enhancements.

Maxim's vassals are scattered around the Demon Realm, and finding and reviving them will help strengthen the home base, the Demon Lord's castle. The vassals will provide bonus support features to assist in the quest for revenge.

"Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark" promises to be an exciting addition to the metroidvania genre, with its unique setting, multiple play styles, and emphasis on exploration and collection. Fans of the genre and newcomers alike can look forward to its release in March 2025.
