Gaming Staff • February 27, 2024
The French streaming community is coming together for the second edition of FURAX, a charity streaming event taking place from April 5-7, 2024, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. The event, organized by streamers Nat'Ali and Joul and co-organized with the association Afrogameuses, aims to combat sexist violence and cyberviolence. All funds raised will be donated to the association Féministes contre le cyberharcèlement.
FURAX raised over 57,000€ in 2023 and was awarded an additional 30,000€ from Twitch during the TwitchCon in Paris. This year, the event will feature content creators such as Modiie, Mamapaprika, and Horty_, and will include gaming sessions, panel discussions, and workshops on the topic of cyberviolence. The goal is to provide resources and support for victims and to raise awareness among the public.
FURAX is an association founded in 2023 with the goal of combating cyberviolence, sexist violence, and violence against marginalized communities. Afrogameuses, founded in 2020, works towards promoting diversity and inclusion in the gaming industry. Féministes contre le cyberharcèlement, founded in 2016, fights against cyberviolence towards women, girls, and the LGBTQIA+ community through education, information, and advocacy.
The streaming event will be held at a venue in the 20th arrondissement of Paris and will be broadcast on Twitch. More information and resources can be found on the FURAX website and Twitter account. The press kit is available here.
