Tense Games, the developer behind the upcoming real-time strategy (RTS) game Fractured Alliance, has started the soft implementation of the third playable faction, The Collective. This new faction is designed to be accessible to new players in the RTS genre while still providing depth and strategic options for experienced fans.

The Collective utilizes autonomous drone warfare to simplify gameplay, allowing new players to compete on a more even footing with veterans of classic RTS titles. Players build subterranean pods that produce AI-controlled drones, which automatically group and strike when they sense an opportunity. Automated Harvesters collect resources and add credits instantly, removing the need to return to base. Players can choose to let drones operate independently or override them with commands like Defend, Stockpile, Force Attack, or Automated.

Balancing The Collective with the other factions, the high-tech United Federation and the explosive, aggressive Eastern Alliance, presents challenges, but Tense Games is confident in their roadmap. The game is currently in development and is expected to be released in 2026. Fractured Alliance is a modern spin on classic RTS gameplay, offering a story-driven campaign, competitive multiplayer, co-op multiplayer, and terrain-based strategy in a war-torn world divided among three unique factions. Players can wishlist the game on Steam to stay updated on its development. Tense Games is also exploring Publisher options.
