Fractured Alliance: Reinventing RTS with Nostalgia and The Colossus
Gaming Staff • February 5, 2025
Indie Game Pc Games Early AccessFractured Alliance, developed by Tense Games, is an upcoming real-time strategy (RTS) game that draws inspiration from classics like Command & Conquer. The game features innovative mechanics, dynamic three-faction warfare, and base building, bringing fresh tactical depth to the genre. Players can choose from three unique factions: United Federation, Eastern Alliance, and The Collective, each with distinct strengths, weaknesses, and strategic playstyles.
The game's latest addition, The Colossus, is a giant nuke-throwing walker, currently exclusive to the United Federation faction. However, game designer Thomas van den Essenburg plans to introduce it as an experimental unit for the Eastern Alliance, replacing its weapon with a more fitting one.
Fractured Alliance offers dynamic battlefields where players must harvest resources, capture strategic nodes, and leverage terrain for an advantage. Players can construct and fortify their bases, set up defensive turrets, and wall off sections, appealing to those who enjoy strategic base development and defensive playstyles.
The game includes a story-driven single-player campaign, casual skirmish, and cooperative multiplayer experiences. As players progress, they'll gain access to devastating superweapons capable of turning the tide of battle. While Tense Games has not announced an official release date, players can wishlist Fractured Alliance on Steam and follow the developer on social media for updates.
