Each character in the game has its skillset, and players must master various techniques to ensure they stay at the top of their game. Players can compete in head-to-head races against the computer or locally with a friend in various racing tracks and game modes.

Rider's GP allows players to race in several tracks and earn points based on their finishing place, while Time Trial challenges players to obtain the fastest time. Endurance requires players to make a team of two racers and try to stay first during 1, 3, or 5 minutes. Battle Race and Chicken Run are multiplayer modes, with the former challenging players to be the first to cross the goal and the latter requiring players to run down a road and stop as close to the edge without going over.
