5Fortress, an indie developer based in Boden, Sweden, has announced the Open Beta for their upcoming first-person shooter game, STRIDEN. The Open Beta will be available on Steam from April 4 to April 6, 2025, and will feature the latest changes to the game based on player feedback.

The Open Beta includes two new modes: Transmit Mode, a PvP objective mode with three intense maps, and PvE Survival Mode, where players team up to fend off relentless waves of enemies. The beta also features a complete audio overhaul, improved mid-game joining, a reworked construction system, and a new Electron Tube transport mechanic.

5Fortress is committed to evolving the game alongside the community, and the Open Beta reflects months of player-driven development. The studio has made hundreds of changes to STRIDEN, including a slightly faster Time-to-Kill (TTK) and the addition of weapon skins, in response to community requests.

STRIDEN is an FPS game that aims to go back to what made the genre special without the chaos of over-the-top cosmetics and distractions. The game has been in development for around two years, and the studio is located at Boden Game Camp, the world's most northern gaming hub.
