Indie developer grownarts, based in Northern Germany, is preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign for their emotionally driven game, "Paws and Leaves - A Last Tale" on November 6, 2024, at 18:00 CEST. The game follows the journey of a young fox named "Me" who, after being bitten by a snake, embarks on a final adventure accompanied by a butterfly named Ani. The Kickstarter campaign aims to support the development of this unique and heartfelt adventure, with a prototype demo already available on Steam.

"Paws and Leaves" combines narrative exploration and innovative mechanics, allowing players to use Me's senses, like smelling, to find hidden memories in the world between life and death. The game features open-world zones with different seasonal landscapes and unique gameplay activities, such as fishing for keepsakes while riding on a wise, ancient turtle. One of the key features of the game is the integration of player-submitted keepsakes, such as photos, messages, and videos, making the game a personal experience for backers.

The Kickstarter campaign offers backers the opportunity to submit their own keepsakes, which will be integrated into the game world, allowing them to become a part of Me's journey. The prototype demo is available now on Steam, giving players a chance to preview the game's emotional story and beautifully crafted world.

"Paws and Leaves" has already received industry recognition, including a nomination for Best Concept at German Dev Days 2020, winner of the Ubisoft Newcomer Award at the German Developer Award in 2022, and a nomination for the Critics’ Choice Award at Indie Cup Germany in 2023. The project has also received funding for concept and prototype production through nordmedia (2019-2022) and has been featured in events like the Indie Arena Booth at Gamescom and TikTok Germany's indie-dev program.
