The game offers a classic role-playing experience with modern ideas, inspired by the golden age of handheld gaming and featuring pixel art and GameBoy-like aesthetics. Players can explore a vast world, fight monsters, and perfect a sophisticated mastery system. The protagonist, who embarks on a journey through the land of Allegoria following a midlife crisis, faces more than 145 monster types, 41 boss fights, and 31 dungeons. The game features 96 unique weapons, each offering unique combat skills, and promises over 25 hours of gameplay. The Edge of Allegoria is the debut work of Canadian game designer, pixel artist, and composer Joe Picknell.
