Experience Gritty 1940s Noir in Kill the Shadow, a New Detective RPG from 663 Games

The developer Shadowlight Sanctuary and publisher 663 Games have released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming narrative-driven detective role-playing game, Kill the Shadow. The game is set in the divided city of Darkwater, brought to life with a mix of 3D environments and 2D pixel art characters. Players take on the role of Detective Ah’Guang, investigating a series of bizarre murders using their powers of deduction, persuasion, and time manipulation. The trailer introduces the sinister 'Shadow' that clings to the detective's back.

Kill the Shadow allows players to freely choose how they enhance their abilities and select their methods to investigate cases. The game features a deduction system where players collect, analyze, and connect related clues to create their own unique investigation path. The Shadow reads memories and reconstructs the traces of the deceased, providing insights into the past. Players can meet various characters in the city, each with their own stories, and encounter characters like the self-righteous Captain Wang and the deceased Master Ruan.

The game combines 3D environments with 2D pixel art characters, creating a unique artistic style with a striking contrast between modern and retro aesthetics. It features diverse and freely explorable scenes, such as the dilapidated steel forest factory, the muddy shipwreck dock, the Zhulong Walled City, and the bustling old city district.

Kill the Shadow will be released for PC via Steam in late 2024. Players can add the game to their Wishlist and try the free demo from Steam. The game's Discord channel provides the latest news. 663 Games is a newly established publishing label committed to premium and indie game publishing on PC, consoles, and mobile platforms, providing funding support to help independent developers and small teams bring their creative visions to life.
