EVERSPACE 2' Wins 'Best German Game' at German Computer Game Awards 2024

The German Computer Game Awards 2024 (DCP) were presented in Munich, honoring the best games from Germany and the creative minds behind them. The awards were hosted by Katrin Bauerfeind and Uke Bosse and followed by hundreds of thousands of viewers via live stream. A total of 800,000 euros was awarded in cash prizes.

The game "EVERSPACE 2" by ROCKFISH Games won the award for 'Best German Game', while Pixel Maniacs from Nuremberg was named 'Studio of the Year'. The 'Special Jury Prize' was given to the initiative "Gaming ohne Grenzen" (Gaming without Borders), which enables young people with disabilities to participate in game culture. Maurice Weber was selected as 'Player of the Year' for his work as a games editor, Twitch streamer, and advocate for diversity and against extremism in the games industry.

Other notable winners include "Baldur's Gate 3" for 'Best International Game', "Spells & Secrets" for 'Best Family Game', "Ad Infinitum" for 'Newcomer Award – Best Debut' and 'Best Story', and "Marble Maze" for 'Best Innovation and Technology'. The awards were hosted by the German Federal Government and game – The German Games Industry Association.

The awards aim to highlight the potential of the German games industry and the importance of creating predictable and internationally competitive conditions for game development in Germany. The winners were selected from a pool of nominees in various categories, with the 'Best German Game' award endowed with 100,000 euros, and other categories endowed with 40,000 to 60,000 euros. The 'Newcomer Award – Best Prototype' and 'Special Jury Award' were endowed with 50,000 and 10,000 euros, respectively.
