Meridiem, a video game publisher and distributor, has announced that it will release a physical edition of the challenging platform parkour game, The Cub, for Nintendo Switch on March 13, 2025. Developed by Demagog Studio and digitally published by Untold Stories, The Cub - Back to Earth Edition will include a special artwork case, a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack, and a beautiful artbook with concept work from the developers.

The Cub is inspired by classic SEGA games of the 90s such as The Jungle Book, Aladdin, and Lion King, with modern twists and ideas. The game tells the story of a hunted cub who has developed immunity to the hostile planet Earth after the Great Ecological Catastrophe. The ultrarich who fled to Mars have returned to Earth to capture the cub, leading to a journey of escape, exploration, and discovery through the urban ruins of humanity.

The game's world is filled with crumbling brutalist tower blocks, abandoned genetics labs, depleted chemical mines, and overgrown battlefields, each level telling a story of how and why humanity fell. The Cub features a custom soundtrack called Radio Nostalgia From Mars, with thought-provoking survivor stories from the few ultrarich living on Mars and a smooth-voiced radio DJ keeping the show moving with a collection of chill apocalypse-wave tunes.

The game's graphics are meticulously drawn and stylized to look like the classic animated films of the late 90s, such as Atlantis, Tarzan, Road to El Dorado, and Samurai Jack’s creator Genndy Tartakovsky's critically acclaimed series, Primal. Meridiem is responsible for designing and manufacturing this beautiful physical edition, including The Cub - Back to Earth Edition for Nintendo Switch.
