Escape a Game Developer's Mind in The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest Demo

Swedish indie developer Elden Pixels, known for Alwa’s Legacy and A Void Hope, has released a demo for their upcoming game, The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest. The demo is now available on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest. This comedic metroidvania takes place in the mind of a game developer, Fletcher Howie Jr., who is trapped in his subconscious during the final stages of a massive project.

The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest demo allows players to explore a part of the starting zone and one full level of the game. Players can use double jump and an extra bullet for their gun right from the start. The demo features a boss fight, classic 2D pixel-art metroidvania action, and strange surprises.

Early reviews of the demo describe it as a smart, stylish, and emotionally resonant experience that doesn't take itself too seriously. The humor and tight action platformer gameplay have been praised, with some reviewers questioning their life choices after playing the demo.

The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest is based on a true story and aims to provide a metroidvania experience drenched in anxiety. Elden Pixels will reveal the official release date in the near future. The game will be available on PC, and fans can follow the developers on Twitter or Facebook for updates.

Elden Pixels was founded in 2016 and is known for their successful game Alwa’s Awakening. The studio's goal is to create fun, creative, and cool games with a focus on gameplay.
